Our Office of Public Awareness Japanese field operations crew recently dispatched a cache of field recordings from Japan. The first full collection documents a rural temporal landscape and includes locations such as the haunted nighttime cemetery on the sacred mountain of Koyasan, a tranquil island in the Seto Inland Sea, and numerous recordings from a hollow deep in the Kiso Valley region.
Additionally, a new urban track is being released: a sonic fingerprint of a Tokyo train station.
These works are currently en route to streaming platforms, but can already be purchased and listened to via the Department’s Bandcamp directory.
As an aside, we did lose one (1) unpaid intern while recording near a mountain riverbed and known Asiatic black bear mating ground. Greg, if you are reading this please contact the U.S. Embassy as soon as possible and mail us the two SD cards that were in your fanny pack. Thank you.
Future installments of educational audio material from Japan will be released in the coming months. In the meantime, we are preparing to close our Gift Shop and Main Campus Visitor Services operations until mid-August while our crew returns to Japan to conduct research and search for intern Greg.
Nakameguro Station on a Spring Afternoon by The Department of Information on Bandcamp
当庁・広報室の日本フィールドオペレーション班は先ごろ、日本で収録されたフィールド録音のアーカイブ一式を送出した。
最初の完全コレクションは、農村的な時間的風景を記録したものであり、聖なる山・高野山の夜間における「幽霊の出る墓地」、瀬戸内海の静かな島、ならびに木曽谷地域の谷奥深くの窪地で収録された多数の録音を含む。
さらに、新たな都市トラックがリリースされる。東京の鉄道駅の音響的フィンガープリントである。
これらの作品は現在ストリーミング・プラットフォームへ配信中であるが、すでに本部のBandcampディレクトリを通じて購入および試聴が可能である。
付記として、河川敷およびアジアクロクマの既知の繁殖地付近での記録作業中に、無給インターン1名を行方不明とした。グレッグ、この文書を読んでいる場合は直ちに在日米国大使館へ連絡し、ファニーパックに入っていた2枚のSDカードを郵送されたい。謝意を表する。
今後、日本からの教育的オーディオ素材の追加配信は、今後数か月の間に順次公開される予定である。
その間、本部のギフトショップおよびメインキャンパスのビジターサービス業務は、8月中旬まで一時閉鎖の準備を進めている。これは、クルーが日本へ再渡航し、調査活動およびインターンのグレッグの捜索を行うためである。
